Jag är lite intresserad av Vaisala…  Mätinstrumenttillverkaren Vaisala överträffade sina ekonomiska prognoser för förra året. Enligt preliminära uppgifter uppgick bolagets omsättning 2024 till 565 miljoner euro och rörelsevinsten till 83 miljoner euro, vilket överstiger tidigare uppskattningar. Tillväxten stöddes av hög omsättning och framgångsrik kostnadskontroll. Både den industriella mätningsverksamheten och väder- och miljösegmentet visade en betydande ökning i omsättning jämfört med föregående år. Företagets strategi förstärks också av förvärvet av Speedwell Climate i september, vilket breddar deras datadrivna verksamhet, särskilt inom försäkringsbranschen. Vaisalas starka orderstock tyder på fortsatt tillväxt. Analytiker ser stora möjligheter för bolaget att nå lönsam tillväxt, särskilt med drivkraft från förnybar energi och SaaS-tjänster.

Vaisala har stärkt sin position inom väderdatatjänster under 2024 genom att genomföra tre företagsförvärv, varav de mest betydande är Speedwell Climate och WeatherDesk. Vaisala’s Second Quarter Shows Strong Growth and Impressive Results!  Measurement device manufacturer Vaisala released its second-quarter earnings report, which exceeded market expectations and increased the company’s stock value by 13.7% on Thursday. The company’s order books grew significantly in the first half of the year, and Vaisala recorded a record-breaking order backlog of €197 million at the end of June. In the second quarter, Vaisala’s revenue grew by 13% compared to the previous year, reaching €148 million. Growth was particularly strong in the weather and environmental business areas, with significant increases in sectors such as aviation and road traffic markets, as well as in the electric power and energy sectors. Vaisala’s operating profit nearly doubled from the previous year, rising to €23.7 million. This exceeded analysts’ forecasts, which were €16.4 million. The improvement in results was mainly due to a strong gross margin and continued cost control. CEO Kai Öistämö stated that the company had improved profitability and increased continuous order and service sales. The company expects market recovery in the second half of the year and estimates its 2024 revenue to be between €540–570 million. Evli expects Vaisala’s earnings per share to rise this year to €1.61 from €1.35 last year.

Stark order intake, men lönsamheten kan bli ännu bättre. Gross margin förbättrades till 54,3%. Subscription sales växte kraftigt. Industriella sidan var svag medan väder och mätning växte väl. Kassaflödet var även starkt. Summa sumarum är jag nöjd, även om guidancen var inte helt så starkt som man förväntat sig.

Vaisalas aktie var enligt min åsikt länge billig. Men under de senaste månaderna har aktiekursen stigit, så aktien kan inte längre anses vara billig. Ändå är företaget fortfarande av hög kvalitet och kan passa bra i en investeringsportfölj även på lång sikt. Vaisala dominerar med sin tekniska kompetens och är stark inom flera olika segment där det finns tillväxtpotential. Företaget har möjlighet att förbättra lönsamheten. Företaget har naturligtvis risker, som alla företag, men jag upplever inte att det har några exceptionellt stora risker.
